well ive changed my mind on which route i was going on the jeep.....so now the new question is LIFT.....which one guys without killing my pocket ,im looking towards the the HD OME lift which i think is 2.25....is this good stuff .....im going to go full armor if the budget(wife) lets me.....and going to wait on rims just going to grab tires and spacers if possible......and also how do i know if i have the QDII .....i have a pretty good offroad background, 2 wheel not 4 so any thoughts on anything would be great, and also im trying to keep the initial start of the build around 2-3k depending on what catches my eye thanks guys.....oh heres my truck i sold last year, there is no way im going this crazy again :D.....

I am in the same boat as you minus the budget controller and initial start up money. don't know why the ATM wont just give me what I want. lol.

These guys on here have talked me into the OME kit it seems like the real deal, and won't break the bank. I will prolly go with a RC or RR lift for me right now just because of a few lose ends. My tv broke and the new adopted puppy ate my couch last week. Its hunting season right lol.

I heard with the right tires you get more then the 2.25 lift out of the OME and the ride is suppose to be great on/off road. I'm sure some owners of this kit will chime in. Sorry to hear about the rims by the way.

I think the OME kit is 700-750
then the 4XGuard is nice armour. I personally really like the look of the rock rails and the front guard.

Good luck man your in the right place to get the answers you seek, soon to be lift jeep man lol.

Great decision to lift her. Unless you want to go bigger, get OME lift. You should contact Omelet a member on here. He is in SD area and has an OME for sale. Plus he has one of the sickest WK on the planet you can check out in person.

What model 08 do you have? With the 5.7 I am guessing limited or higher which would mean you have QDII.

i have the limited 5.7 ....i figured i had the QDII , considering how much this jeep cost me.....i did hit up omlete about his kit its the MD kit and im thinking im going HD with UCAs or i might just pull the trigger on the super lift .....

if there is any possibility that youl'l want to go bigger in the future...just do it now, a lot of us make that mistake, you'll be happier in the long run if you go with the superlift imo.

you guys are probably right ....im just one of those guys that likes to do things twice.....i wish i could see the two of them in person and or ride in both......also is the performance that big of a difference between the 2 .....and if i end up going crazy like i did on my last truck, it means i will lift it about 4 times ,and in the end i will have a vehicle that is un-usable on the street.......did you guys see the video of my last truck....

haha no, post it or link it!

ive never heard anyone complain about the superlift and a lot of people with ome eventually end up stepping up to the superlift. i am in the process of switching from daystar to a modified ome lift (buying mrtosh's current set up becuse hes going to superlift lol).

The biggest difference between the OME and SL is the extra body clearance. You can fit 285s with both lifts so your actual ground clearance is the same, but the SL will have a bit more body clearance. I would have to agree with the others, if you are contemplating the SL and you can afford it, DO IT! If you want it now you will want it later. Everyone know you always want more and to go bigger (no ****!) as time goes on. With the SL you can start with just the 4" lift and 33s then later make your way up to a 6" and 35s. You can't do this with the OME. You start with a 2" and 32s and eventually make it a 3.5" and 33s. Granted I love my setup and it has taken me very far, but like I said you always want more!

Food for thought :D

i hear you .....this is why i was asking for the input, which is much appreciated.......35s!!!! i cant do that again.....my last truck had 35s, that cost me so much, i had goodyear yellow lables on it plus 2 spares......but in all honesty im not sure how far im going to go i dont want to go down the same road again.....it really was an addiction though i hit 110 + through the dezert

same boat as you dude. id recommend doing it right the first time. save a few more months and go SL. i should have went OME when i bought the daystar BB and been done with it. now im stuck between the OME or SL, and im weighing the option of going back to stock height for awhile till i figure out which route i want to go. lol. make sense? i know, i cant make send of it either lol

im still probably going OME .....i really like the way it looks with JBAs upper control arms, and plus the money i save on the kit can go to other goodies.....time will only tell im pretty impulsive when it comes to this stuff unfortunately......

Well Bud whatever you decide let me know when you are planning the instal. I live about an hour and a half from you and I have torn down and rebuilt mine countless times! So if you would like any help just let me know. What is your time frame on this? Like when are you going to buy everything and start the instal?

Just a side note. With SL you do not gain much because you have to drop TC or exchange drive shafts. Beyond SL to many things to modify. With OME no such problems. All is stock except UCA and lift. I have OME HD all around and gain is 3 inch + 1" rubber. I do not need more.

nate, something i have always wondered with the amount of lift you have- how have you addressed the driveline angles? i know on any other jeep you would need a sye or a tcase drop. what was done to adress the increase in the driveline angles?

awesome jeep, prob one of my favorites.
