On stock wheels, without spacers, 265/70/17 will hit the bolt. You might be able to cut the bolt and fit them but I would rather use spacers. The best thing to do if can, is buy wheels with the proper backspacing. You should also do the pinch weld but you can get away without it, if you really want to.

I used 1.5 inch spacers on my stock wheels but then switched my wheels to wheels with 4.75 backspacing.

There is a wonderful function on this site called a "search" you should check it out. All your questions about pinch welds, tires and spacers have been talked about over and over.

Check out the wheel and tire threads and the how to/ DIY threads. its all there for you just search.

Re: Lifts and tire size thread :)

Hello,

I have a 2005 Grand Cherokee V6. Im adding some 275/45/22s. I need about 2" more clearance to be safe. Im trying to find the most comfortable 2" lift for on road use. Would you recommend the coil spacers or the actual springs? And would I need new shocks with this set up?

Re: Lifts and tire size thread :)

Spring lifts are better for ride quality and IMO with 22's you gonna want themover a BB.

Yep, you'll probably want the OME MD kit. The HD will probably be too stiff for road use on your V6.

Re: Lifts and tire size thread :)

****NOOOOOOB HELP PLEASE****** Does anyone know if I get a EMU HD lift, I would be able to put on Nitto Terra A/T 305/60/18, (only a 32.6) Yes they are very wide, I want to go for a very wide look on my 06 WK 3.7 SO is there any way this is possible?!!?! Would I need a pinch weld mod? or/and spacers? COULD IT POSSIBLY WORK? without messing my car up? THANKS
