A puck just goes inbetween the spring and your truck, making your truck 2 inches higher by adding a rubber piece that acts as a spacer between the spring mount and the spring. The problems with these can be at full flex the spacer can fall out/become seated weird
A 2 inch spring lift costs more but consists of springs, so theres no puck. It's pretty straight forward. Ride quality deteriorates with bigger lifts, but as far as 2 inch goes, whether you go spring or puck ride will be very similar. I'd go with a 2 inch puck and with your saved money get some shocks! You got an '01 WJ, I'm sure you're needing new shocks
Or with the money you save by going puck lift, get a new addco swaybar, that'll give you a lift and really tighten up your trucks handling ... just a few random ideas!
I run a puck lift and my truck rides fine. the Coils falling out issue is something that would only happen at about 4" of lift and with swaybars disconnected. I've never had that problem....ever.
I have the Addco 1" in the back and it might a night and day difference.
