New member, thoughts on upcoming plans.

Just recently purchased a 2008 silver Overland GC. I have always been with Jeeps. First was a 1994 Jeep Cherokee, last vehicle was a 2008 Jeep Wrangler 2dr. I figured it was time to get something a little more grown up and civilized.

I love the new to me GC. I am looking soon to level out the front and have decided, based on all the reading I have done here, that the HD Bilsteins and the rustys strut spacers will give me a more level stance. I'd prefer not to lift the whole jeep, just level out the front.

As for the tires, I'd like to swap for some 17 in wheels in exchange for my stock overland 18s. I like the wheels but the 18" tire price is too favorable. Plus I will venture offroad from time to time and prefer to have a little more meat on the ground. I want to keep stock wheels on the jeep and not go aftermarket. I like to make my vehicles look like they should have come from the factory that way. I like the moduflex wheels, in either the chrome or the platinum but have had a hard time finding some decent ones for sale anywhere (i'd rather not buy new). Also, what do I look to get for my stock 18s? They are in good shape with only slight blemishes here and there.

For tires, I was looking at the General Grabber at2, 255/65/17 flavor. A friend of mine says nothing but good things about them.

Any thoughts or ideas about these mods?

Also, being a new owner, any other things that I should know? I have done my fair share of reading on here and I feel pretty knowledgeable but welcome any other advice. Pics will come soon, it's getting some minor body work done as I type.

Welcome!

I think you will like the Bilsteins and Rusty's spacers, your setup will lever you out just right.
If you go with 17'' wheels, consider a set of Bridgestone dueler revo which is also available in 255/65/17.

If you go to a 245/70-17 your tire choices broaden dramatically without giving up more than 1/2" width.
