Re: OME front strut question

I really didnt like this about the daystar lift I installed... I dont understand why they cannot use a factory style hardwhere setup where there is a metal sleeve you turn the nut against instead of just squishing bushings, seems it would be just as effective and you would KNOW it was tight.

Re: OME front strut question

I've been really busy lately, so I haven't had time until today to fully tighten the struts. I tightened them until they would not turn any further, and still I am getting clanking/popping. It happens sometime when I turn the wheel back and forth while driving. it will also do it when I push down on the accelerator as well as when I let off the accelerator. The clanking/popping seems to be coming mostly from the area under the driver's feet. When I get time, I am going to check the control arms, sway bar, etc to see if I find anything unusual. Any thoughts?

Re: OME front strut question

Are the bump stops fully seated in the front coilovers? Did you check and double check that everything you reassembled is torqued? I haven't noticed any funky noises yet after installing last Friday so I'm not sure where your issue could be. It sucks and I know it must be frustrating but I'm sure you'll get to the bottom of it. Good luck.

Re: OME front strut question

Guys. Word of wisdom. Never tight lower suspension parts before lowering the jeep to the ground. Then and only then tight the bolts according specification.
