Ome issues????

So this problem started today moose hunting about 50 miles agos... It sounds like my front left strut is coming loose. every so often I'll hit a little bump little every day things in the road, and I'll here a sliet rattle. I checked all the bolts and every thing seems right...has anyone had this issue

Re: Ome issues????

sometimes when the strut is assembled that center nut doesnt go down all the way. there is also the orientation with that tab/

or look at the sway bushings.

Re: Ome issues????

I had a similar issue with my fronts, right after I put them on. I ended up tightening that center bolt all the way down. I haven't heard too much after that.

Re: Ome issues????

So, on top of the entire strut assembly, there's the strut plate (where the 4 bolts go up into your engine bay, and you screw them down). In the center of that, there's the strut bolt and there is a nut, which keeps that strut(mount) plate on. That's the one - the center one. I had to loosen the 4, lower the entire strut and tighten from underneath. It was kind of a b1tch, but solved my issue.

In this pic, it's right where my buddies thumb is - a bolt would poop up in there, securing the strut(mount) plate to the top:

Re: Ome issues????

I have a nice clunk on my drivers side as well on bumps and sharp take-offs. Everything is tight, I'm thinking mine is the lower control arm strut clevis bolt bushing. You can tighten the top strut rod nut while the strut plate is mounted to the body. I just used an air body saw and cut a small crescent shape notch big enough to fit a thin walled deep socket down in there and tighten the nut. Doing it this way with the weight of the vehicle on it makes a world of difference.
