Re: Pinch 'n Weld mod help

hmmmm interesting ... i think i like this process for hiding the cut in the wheel well plastic the best so far... ( from 06DubyaK 's link )

i am sure once you drive for a while everything kind of blends together, he could of probably sanded down the spackle stuff a little better also.

Re: Pinch 'n Weld mod help

Here is some good advise i found in a thread on another forum...

"Just one thing about those pinchwelds(the Liberty have the same issue when fitting larger tires),do not cut any of that metal.Cutting make the unibody weaker and that pinchweld is a major structural point in your unibody(the 4 corners of the passenger cabin are the strongest points).Just beat it over with a 2-3lb hammer and paint it so not to reduce the strength like cutting it does.

Just a tip."

Re: Pinch 'n Weld mod help

Liberty is a piece of shit. Try bending over that entire pinch weld and see how far you get. The cuts aren't going to hurt anything as long as you cut them correctly.

Liberty owners.

lol

Re: Pinch 'n Weld mod help

You have to cut the pinch. I haven't seen the liberty pinch, but if they can just smack it over with a 2-3 lbs. hammer than its nothing like the WK's. Even with the cuts I had to beat the hell out of them to fold 'em over.

Just don't cut too far into the metal where it is already bent. You just need to cut far enough to be able to bend it down.

Re: Pinch 'n Weld mod help

I left mine in, and cut it. I know it looks like shit, but to be honest, you can't even see it once the tire is back on. At all.
