Question rough country 3.5 inch lift on zj

I just got the rough country 3.5 inch lift put in on my 1997 jeep grand cherokee zj and I am experiencing vibrations when driving at 50-65 km/h. Does any one know how to get rid of it or what it may be? Thanks

Did you get new tires and/or rims? Sounds like something is not balanced right!

Re: rough country 3.5 inch lift on zj

Well probably not the problem then. I'm not to familiar with live front axels since I have a WK, but maybe it's something with your steering? I have read about steering stabilizers, that may be something you want to look into. I know a lot of lifted solid front axel rides need them for some steering issue, just not sure what.

Re: rough country 3.5 inch lift on zj

i installed the 3.5 rough country on my 96zj last summer. broke both stupid camber bolts on lower front control arm...$50 to replace!!!!
i have not had any problems out of it.
so...did you use an adjustable trac bar or did ya drill the hole to move the bottom mount? I drilled cause of lack of funds for the adjustable.
I know the kit said it would not work with the cv type u joint on your front drive shaft..as it would cause vibrations.
a new steering stabilizer wouldn't hurt....most 4x4 use the stabilizer to soak up steering wheel shock like when hitting potholes and or other obsticles. most definatly with larger tires since they grab more of the roads. A new stabilizer cured my "deathwobble" years ago. But so did a new track bar.
it may even be a tossed wheel weight.

this is just a few ideas for ya to look into.

I started having a vibration in my steering of the zj a few weeks ago. it comes and goes. I rotated the tires and it got worse. It is now for sale.lol
