So I have been speaking with Saguaro on facebook and I told them I would make them a thread to get some ideas from WK owners on their new rear bumper. I have listed a few basic options as far as features go, but feel free to post any ideas about overall design as well. Saguaro will be monitoring this thread to incorporate our ideas into their plans.

Basic ideas;
Tire Carrier
Hi-jack lift
Rear backup sensors
Rear view camera
Gas tank holders
2" Hitch

Personally, Im really only concerned with the tire carrier, hi-jack lift, 2" hitch. Gas tank holders would be a plus as well. I dont care for the rear backup sensors or rear view camera options as it is a steel bumper.

Mods: I also asked them to become a vendor, and they said they would consider it.

we're not gonna bust your chops over this bro. Discuss all you want.....and if they want to become a vendor...they are more than welcome! We want whats best for our members and their Jeeps!

Because I can run into anything and not worry about it. Plus I dont have any of that fancy crap soo im biased....

fair enough - the problem w/ that is although the steal bumper might not be damaged whatever you hit may be more damaged and if its your fault your paying.

These features are important to me because i live on a very tight block w/ a TON of kids so anyway that helps me see the rear of my vehicle (especially w/ the lift) is not something i'm going to have an easy time giving up.

Same idea as the AEV EGR module. i wold not have lifted my jeep at all if i had to give up my ESP.

In my old age safety is becoming an important thing so to me its not fancy crap - its necessity.

Just throwing out my perspective.

I think that they need to find some way to make it easy for the buyer to add the sensors if needed. Maybe not a separate model for the sensors jeeps but make it able to be drilled for them. I know i had a www.Detoursusa.com rear bumper on my XJ with tire carrier and after years of having it i did end up backing in to a civic and did 3500 bucks of damage to it at 3 mph but none to my jeep so i can see where some people would want the keep the sensors.

for me id like to be able use the hitch to run 1 of those "trays", for lack of a better word, just to be able to take more stuff with me on trips. use for coolers, fresh water containers, and what not. Especially for beach trips when i tend to over pack.

i have 2 kids and the crap that comes with them is ridiculous.

I guess i could swap it out once i get where i am going. not like i would wheel w/ that attached.

idk - i guess if i knew the cost i could weigh the pros and cons

there is just more you can do w/ the hitch receiver if you don't have to use it for recovery

if you are figuring on cost, you are probably looking at a couple square inches of either 1" steel or several pieces of smaller gauge material cut and welded together for D-ring mounts which usually costs less than $5 in materials, the difference in adding them or not is probably very insignificant, I prefer to have them than not for the reasons of being pulled from the side and such

Saguaro just posted this;

"Current build list includes WK rear bumper/tire carrier, WK roof rack, WK rock sliders, JK fender flares and JK grille guard just to name a few. No dates yet as to when these will be available but we will keep you updated here!"

Ya that would be a sweet option, Ive always wanted my WK to hold a tad more fuel.

I'm liking the rear lighting idea. keep us in the know on when this is available b/c I've been searching for a bumper with rear tire mount.
