Second set of wheels for offroading

I have been considering getting a second set of wheels and tires (of course) for switching out for offroading. I am looking for the wheels primarily, but was looking for recommendations on what to look at. I don't want anything cheap but I don't want to get expensive (because I am cheap). I was looking at rubicon rims but was wonder what other's thoughts may be.

Re: Second set of wheels for offroading

I have a 2 inch RC Lift with 1.5 inch spacers and found what i think is an excellent deal on 4 255/75R17 wheels and tires that came from a 2012 JK. Only 3000 miles on them and except for a scuff on one wheel. In very good shaped. $400. Would these fit or would I have to do modifcation? Or is not even possible? I am not sure but I believe these are 32 inch tires?

Re: Second set of wheels for offroading

Yep, those should fit with the spacers just fine.

They are almost a 32" tyre.

You will have to do the pinchweld mod though. There is a thread on here showing how.

Re: Second set of wheels for offroading

Thanks. I really have no desire to tackle a pinch weld, so I think I am best off with the tire size I have now.

Re: Second set of wheels for offroading

Anyone have any advice or opinions on steel wheels for off roading? Cragar etc...Obviously not the prettiest looking wheels... Better off with aluminum?
