tires

Is like to put some bigger off road tires on my stock 97 jeep cherokee sport. What would be the largest tire size I can go with out a lift? Thanks in advance.

Re: tires

30"-31" with some trimming/fender flare relocation. The 97+ have smaller wheel wells than the '96 & older XJ's. HTH

Re: tires

I ran a 3.5" Rubicon Express SuperFlex on my XJ for years with 31's & no trimming, & with 33's with significant cutting, beating in of pinch seams/floor boards (sledgehammer to gain an inch or two) up front. I just cut slits in the rear fender between the spot welds, then rolled the lip over, beat it flat. Really old school, NAXJA.ORG has lots of pics/how to's also. HTH
