That's a big 10-4. 5wks of owning and it was pin striped. Seems there are a few local wk2 owners on the boards. Maybe we should gather up for an outing.

Re: Trail Run Plans/Reports

My nephew is going to college in Flagstaff so I might be willing to make the trip out there to do a run and go visit him. He has an 04' Wrangler too, so he may want to tag along...

In the very near future I plan to run up to Flag to hit "Cinders" https://www.google.com/search?q=cind...h=1072&dpr=0.9

and also to Sedona for Broken Arrow... https://www.google.com/search?q=brok...h=1072&dpr=0.9

Not sure how you'd do some of those hills without 4low...

Serious? I've done broken arrow in my 12 never touched 4L. I also did it in an old Tacoma on baby tires and manual in 4h. I used 4L in my 12 once in wet deep sand at box Canyon tthat's the only time I even considered it necessary

Wasn't trying to bash it, just curious. I've never run those trails myself, but was just looking through pictures and saw some hills that I know I'd probably be using 4low with...not meaning you had to run those parts, but it was just an observation.

I took a quick trip up in the hills in my area the other day and quickly got into a steep situation I wasn't expecting. The recent weather caused a bunch of washed out areas too and I needed 4low to get out. Otherwise it would've been a winch out, which I didn't have.

It's just something I'd require if I went on any trail runs and I'm curious how you favor on those said places.

Re: Trail Run Plans/Reports

Ive been through some fairly gnarly stuff and never felt compelled to use 4L. Mind you, I like my Jeeps. I dont toss them up or down huge rock walls, or very tippy ledges, etc. But I get into deep mud and sand, loose rock high incline climbs, etc and with proper driving and a good spotter... I do just fine. When I choose to get a bit crazier...Im always with someone, or a group who could help me out if needed. Just hasnt been necessary yet. As far as the links above, Cinders is easy. Its just a play ground. Broken Arrow, theres only one large climb over rock that would concern me and I bypass it for now til my rails get here, but ive been over it before in other vehicles without issue. The rest of the trail is manageable for even stock 4wd SUVs with decent ground clearance.

Right on. Glad to hear the WK2 retains most of its abilities even without 4low.

If you head out, let me know. Sedona and Flag are so close and there are plenty of trails around them to go out.

I'm heading up to Broken Arrow this weekend. Hoping it won't be too crowded.

Well my nephew was just here for Thanksgiving and will be back for about 3 weeks during Christmas/New Years so I will probably hold off on a trip until Feb/March. I know they get snow up there and I am sure some trails will be shut down but being from So Cal, I haven't done any real offroading in the snow and it might be fun. I'll post here a few weeks before I plan on making and trip and it would be awesome to have some locals to wheel with!
