Since some of us enjoy taking our WK's off-road, I think it might be helpful to have a place where we can plan trips, share trail data and show what we've been up to on the trails.

I have two weeks to invest in the Colorado/Utah areas this spring/summer.

I am trying to balance Grand Slam, the opening of the San Juans(Poughkeepsie Gulch is beckoning me back....see pic) and meeting the folks at Saguaro to get a winch-bumper.

I know Tom Z and Acid will be interested, as well as Russ, if he is signed up.

Let's go wheelin' boys and girls(Darrell Waltrip).

That last one is awesome.

I see you have the same rake that I have. Your rear sits about 1" lower than the front.

That is due to the combo of Bilsteins, JBA UCAs, and 1/2 inch shock spacers on the front suspension.

This a big decision for me people. So what do you think? Another inch in the rear or not?

:moon: And afterwards he would like an opinion on his suspension setup.

Seriously, my opinion, stick with the pro truck look. Also, powdercoat your front and rear coils red, it would nicely contrast with the blue exterior.

I like the red powdercoat idea but is my daily driver. And....I just ordered rear coil spacers like 2 minutes ago.

I feel I'll still be uncomfortable after a while and start thinking about lifting the rear again. It's been an off and on cycle.

Your WK and Jayloop's WK are my favorite offroad rigs.

No One... do you have issues with your rear tires stuffing under your fender at full flex? did you do that pinch n weld mod back there? those tires stick out pretty wide...
The rear tires do sometimes rub the fenders, but wadda ya gonna do? The pinch weld was taken care of when the lift was installed. As for the tires, I am looking into using a skinnier tire so I can lose the spacers.

No one do you need any D-Ring Isolators? I have a few extra. Hated the sound my shackles made when hitting bumps n what not. If ya need any, lemme know. I have about 5 left and I can just mail em out to ya no charge!

Ps I wanna go play on mosquito pass!
Appreciate the offer, but I am good. If my job ever sends me to California again we need to do some wheelin'. Dunno if you ever seen this website, http://www.ghosttowns.com/states/ca/casouth.html, I would like to see some cool ghost towns in California.

My older daughter and I got a chance to go down to KS Rocks this weekend with my uncle and cousin. The white TJ is thier ride. The park is only about 90 miles south of us. For anybody that is able to go there I would recommend checking it out. The main loop is for everybody and then they have the rest of the trails marked green (intermediate), blue (moderate), black (expert). Lots of rocky obstacles, good climbs and descents, tight trails to challenge the driving skills. Really got a chance to put the WK to the test. We were able to tackle some awesome runs. One thing I noticed with the WK is that a spotter is very helpful. We would stop and pick our lines on climbs and descents, but it is tough to see over or around the front.
The OME suspension is the real deal, the spacers give it solid, wide stability, and I am very pleased with the performance of the GY Authorities.

Went on a little road trip to Tuttle Creek Off Road Park on Sunday. It's north of Manhattan, KS - about 2.5 hours from us. We had a gang of family with three Jeeps between us. Tuttle is an awesome place to wheel for anyone and everyone. That's my cousin's KJ - bone stock/street tires - did pretty good - I was impressed. I was proud of her for bringing her Jeep. They needed winched out a couple times - but still  Oh yeah, the dork driving the WK is me in all my no shave November moustached glory. But, everyone on my crew at the firehouse is doing it too so it's all in good fun.

Wait, the KJ couldnt get up that hill? huh?

#99 ·
The pics don't do the terrain justice, but what with the incline, the slick mud, and street tires at full pressure, wasn't gonna happen. The TJ is actually anchored to a tree to keep from coming down into the KJ. We ran out of space for the winch to be of benefit so we had to transfer the load to my hitch with a tow strap and come off the winch as I pulled to get 'em all the way up. Fun day!

Haha yea no depth to pics :( I hate load tranfers and all that crap! Your a firefighter right? I'm taking my ropes class now and I hate it, I can't get my head around it lol to many angles of mechanical advantage
