Trailer Hitch Back Up Lights

So I def want some more light for A) when I'm backing up at night B) romping at night ans C) to flash assholes behind me! haha I don't wanna do the HID reverse cuz I just don't wanna! So I did a lil search and found these...

Anyone know if they're any good, if they'll look like crap, etc...?

Re: Trailer Hitch Back Up Lights

I have seen something similar while driving and I wasn't really impressed with the way it seemed to hang off the receiver.

I was looking at my hitch, and couldn't you trim back the plastic on the right side of the hitch and mount a small single light directly next to the receiver (ie: Dually)? You could probably tuck the light up so you almost couldn't see it, but flip a switch and see everything behind you. If I had my choice between spending $70 on the kit you linked, or $100 on a single Dually flood, I'd spend the extra $30....but that's just my preference.

Not even sure if it'd work there, but the Dually is almost a perfect cube and may work.

Yea totally, wondering if it's secure or hanging off. In a perfect world, I'd get a SRT8 bumper and fill it w real fogs...but till then, I'll look into this. I plan on getting a 3/4 shackle for the hitch and then maybe some small PIAAs er something...who knows! haha thanks for your input maing

Re: Trailer Hitch Back Up Lights

Found these pics online. Doesn't seem too bad, right?!

Two 55-watt halogen H3 lamps, the "White Night" puts out 130,000 candlepower with an 80' low-wide pattern of light. These lights can be set to come on when vehicle is put in reverse or switched on for use as an extra source of light

Duh not a Jeep but an idea of size

Re: Trailer Hitch Back Up Lights

you could always get some flush mount led pods and put them in to your bumper...or you could get a set of these and mount them to your bumper under your tail lights...

Man up! lol HID is where its at, so stealth and will own any halogen add-ons. They're also less of a drain on your battery
