I don't know why I was thinking the HD Bilsteins were longer stroke than the stockies?

Re: WK lifts- OME vs. 2.25 RR

As a fact: OME kit is 3" tall (HD setup-full, springs & shocks). It is always advertised as 2" and never as 1.5".
Edit: Here is a link to my lifted WK with HD OME lift and 265/70-17 rubber: Finally lifted

no problem. if you can get a good deal on the springs, it might be worth buying them and then getting the ome shocks/struts, then selling your bilsteins to make up for some costs. just a thought.

Never say never. Do some reading on this link you will see the 1.5inch rating
http://www.rocky-road.com/wkome.html

And does anyone know where and how to buy the 2 inch larger than stock bilstien shocks

Re: WK lifts- OME vs. 2.25 RR

I have the RR 2.25 lift and so far so good. I do hit trails and it handles good. I was looking for more ground clearance without breaking the bank. The RR is good for the money. My cousin (OBXjeep) has the same lift with Blisteins and his is alot smoother than mine without the Blisteins. I am upgrading to them come tax time. And I have put roughly 10k on the kit? I do alot of 3.5 hour trips prob once or twice a month.

Re: WK lifts- OME vs. 2.25 RR

The Bilstein rear shocks are 1" longer than stock. The struts are the same and therefore shouldn't be used with any kit that utilizes longer springs or spacers that fit between the upper strut mount and spring.

If the spacer is on top of the strut assembly, then you're fine. Also, there are 2 OME kits available-the "medium duty" and the "heavy duty". The MD is generally considered a 2" lift and the HD is 3", due to the stiffer springs.

I went with the 2" Rough Country and don't regret it at all.

Re: WK lifts- OME vs. 2.25 RR

I have seen that page before. That statement about lift height is FALSE. Even fully loaded (winch) height on my WK is 3". Just look the space between the rubber and fender. That will give you an idea. And yes lift price is about 760$ (shocks&springs). shocks are 2" longer then stock.
