Here are the weights for the products you listed.

WK2 Sump Protection Plate - Standard (3mm)
installed weight = 11.2kg shipping weight = 12.7kg

WK2 Transmission Protection Plate (Heavy Duty)
installed weight = 6.15kg shipping weight = 7.2kg

WK2 Lower Front Guard - USA + Standard
installed weight = 15.20kg shipping weight = 17.5kg

If you're still interested in the WK2 Lower Front Guard, we're currently offering a 9% discount to all of our USA customers to help with the shipping costs.

Bill
Thanks Bill, I ordered the Sump and Tranny but was wondering if weight of Lower Guard had any impact on drivability/handling? The discount makes it tough to pass up as well.

And status update on your pre-runner you can share with us?

Chuck

Hey Chuck,

I thought that was your order!

The WK2 Lower Front Guard won't have any noticeable effect on drivability/handling. In fact, we have many customers who buy the LFG for that reason. It only weighs 15kg compared to 35kg-70kg for a Bull Bar. I'd say you need to get close to 60-100kg total added weight to the front end before you need to start adjusting springs and shocks.

We've decided to delay the WK2 Pre-Runner while we setup our Retailer Network, North American Warehouse, USA Web Store and launch our Marketing Campaign. We thought is was time we started getting the Chief Products name out there.

Cheers,
Bill

Lower front guard and sump plate were a whopping success and have the battle scars to prove it.

Thanks Bill!!

Re: WK2 Lower Front Guard

BigCat, is that the RRO Bumber guard and winch brace on your Jeep?

Very nice looking set up, I have ACC and was concerned brush bars interfering with them, but sans brush bars look very cool.

68camaro, yes it is. Thanks, I like the look too although putting the front license plate on detracts it a little.

The install of the bumper bar was a PITA. Bill really took the time to write up fantastic installation instructions for all the Chief products. RRO could take some lessons from him, but some ingenuity and cursing finally made inanimate behave properly and the end result was worth it.

Re: WK2 Lower Front Guard

I'm so jealous BigCat. Looks great all together on your Trailhawk finally!

And although I'm sad to hear about the delay, I like the continued efforts to get sellers stateside so I can actually afford them sooner!

Re: WK2 Lower Front Guard

Just took the Hemifever tune off because tomorrow it goes in for its 30,000 mile maintenance. Then when I get it back I will install the llams wiring harness from Graeme so I can keep it 1.25" above calibrated ride heights at all the factory height settings and speeds. (I shouldn't need to put it in OR2 anymore but still could without exceeding the QL system if emergency requires)

What would American WK2 off-roaders do without Australian ingenuity + shipping and handling.

Have way more money for other mods. At least your dollar is better than ours. Try going the other way, Aus buying from US. Would be cheaper for me to buy my own ship and go pick it up myself That's why we make great stuff because it's too expensive to get from anywhere else. On the downside it's expensive here too generally (WA any way because of the mining boom). Not your stuff though Bill. Keep it coming. Sell the shite out of your products in the US and make your parts cheaper for us Aussies. Haha

Yeah it was a difficult decision. We love engineering products and getting them out into customers hands, but at some point we realised if we wanted Chief Products to be around for awhile, we needed to get our name out there and help customers get better access to our products. At the end of the day, we have to sell products to make more products.

Cheers,
Bill
