Re: WK2 Lower Front Guard

Bill, have you noticed that Victor has the non pedestrian safe front bumper reinforcement (with the factory tow hooks) and we in Aus have the pedestrian safe bumper reo, they are both different so you would need to check that the lower front guard fits both versions.

I suppose you could either find a trailhawk or a 2011 with front factory tow hooks and fit your lower front guard to them as they would both have the non pedestrian safe bumper reo and let us know if they fit those too.

I'm very much looking forward in getting this! I took off my lower air dam and it really leaves the washer bottle, ACC and air compressor vulnerable to damage.

Hey Victor,

I've been trying to get our hands on a 2011 to do a test fitting, but so far no luck. I thought we had one for our last test fitting, but it turned out to be a 2012 ordered in 2011. It's definitely high on our To Do List.

If anyone has a 2011 WK2 and they are willing to bring it to our next test fitting, (Need WK2s for Product Test Fitting (Gold Coast & Brisbane)) please let me know.

Cheers,
Bill

Re: WK2 Lower Front Guard

Hi Bill,

Any news ?...just wondering how the fitting tests are going, I might have a new off road trip coming up so in case its ready I'd be willing to get the piece.
When you get a chance let me know.
Thanks

Hi Victor,

The test fittings have progressed very well. We've got another one this weekend, to test our new camera guard design and confirm fitment on 2015 WK2s. We also took it out for some off-road testing this past weekend at our Weekend Wheeling event (Weekend Wheeling Nov 14-15-16) and I'm happy to say it performed excellently. We had a great time and I'll be posting some photos and videos online very soon.

If you haven't already I encourage you to like our Facebook page and signup for our Newsletter. That way you'll be sure to get the latest product updates as well as photos and videos from our events.

Before I can finalise the design, I still need to test fit it on an Australian MY11 WK2. If you have a MY11 or a MY13 Trailhawk and you're willing to bring it in for a few hours so we can test fit several of our products, please send me a message. I'll make it worth your while.

Cheers,
Bill

Re: WK2 Lower Front Guard

On the weekend I installed the Mopar underbody kit, to go with the Chief sump plate I already had on, and have noticed that the steering is perceptibly heavier now. Wife also noticed and isn't happy, as she drives it most...
I'm surprised that adding 60/70kg to the underbody has made such a difference, has anyone else noticed this on their GC after fitting that kit?

Cheers, Simon

Sounds a bit odd?
I have both too, I had the mopar installed about a month ago and just installed the chief one last week. I haven't noticed any difference with mine.

Re: WK2 Lower Front Guard

I bought the 3 units from Mopar, installed them, and it feels exactly the same, it was only about 50 kilos (100lbs) added, it would be the same as if by having a passenger the Jeep would feel different when driving...at least for me there was no difference..and hopefully some day I can add Bill's lower guard protection.
Rgds.

34psi all round.. I'm pretty sure the front has dropped at least 1cm since before the install, the back has risen slightly also.
Haven't tried changing the tyre pressures yet, as I wasn't expecting it to make a difference. (My car knowledge isn't great though..)
Maybe I should just throw box of rocks in the boot to level things up?

Cheers, Simon
