Surely there has to be real sump and transmission protection available here stateside without paying 100's in shipping??
From our perspective down under, US off-roading seems to be more about mud plugging and aggressive look. A sump protection plate has little going for it in terms of mud or looks. We are more into going bush and getting home safely without too much damage.

Re: WK2 Lower Front Guard

It depends on what part of the U.S. you are in, the south is more mudding while up north is more 4 wheeling trails and rock crawling.

Haha... there's a few rocks in the lower 48. Besides, like beer on a golf course, it's better to have it and not need it vs... well I think you get it.

I stumbled upon this front skid plate (sold out of Arizona) that looks like it comes close to the amount of protection the Chief sump plate provides. Supposedly they make good products too, but it's pricey.

ASFIR Front skid plate

Hey,

Quite honestly, we're surprised there hasn't been someone in the USA working on products like this either. We've been inundated with calls from all over the world telling us we're the only ones with anything decent to offer. Of course we're happy to have so many people interested in our products! BUT considering we just opened our doors 18 months ago, we're struggling to handle our current growth.

Here are a few updates...
We're currently investigating manufacturing and warehousing products in the USA for our USA customers. We'll be launching a USA section to our online store in Q1 2015 to determine USA demand and take pre-orders. If demand levels dictate, we'll initiate the USA manufacturing and warehousing.

Having said that, with the USD currently gaining against the AUD, at some point the exchange rate will negate the benefits of manufacturing and warehousing in the USA.

If you're in the USA and you'd like to order some of our products, send me a PM. Now that we're doing more international shipping I can probably organise some lower shipping rates than are currently listed on our website.

I hope that info helps!

Cheers,
Bill

Hi Victor,

More than likely it will be Q1 2015. I'm trying my best to get it out before the holidays, but things have been so busy here I'm not sure we'll make it.

I'll be posting a more detailed product update very soon.

Cheers,
Bill

Sorry for the over generalisation. I'm only going on what I read on this blog and youtube clips.

Made from alloy....better than plastic, prefer the steel.
