I took this clinic in 2014 and came back again this year. It is hosted by a local club, Esprit de Four. I tried to go last year but came down with a bug of some sort. So this is my second time at this clinic.
It is a good day. You show up around 7:30-8am and have a vehicle inspection and paperwork. Then we go into a classroom where they review off-roading basic rules and techniques, do's and don'ts, extraction techniques and equipment, and plenty of time for Q & A. They are a helpful group.
After lunch we hit the trails - they mapped out two routes through Hollister Hills, each route a mix of easy, mostly medium, and a bit of hard (black diamond) sections. There are some technical skill-builders such as tire placement, close approach forward & backward, stopping & starting on a hill, off-camber turns, and the obstacle course.
Here we are at the obstacle called Stair-Stepper.
