Re: Customer Requests???

There was talk earlier in this thread of a lighting kit similiar to the Mopar ambient lighting kit but cheaper. I'm interested, and don't need any colour changing ability. Your thoughts on creating one,LipschitzWrath ?

Re: Customer Requests???

I have one...

personally... i like the OEM look of the tail lights. But i have mine tinted and want them to be brighter. I've looked it up, and it looks like there are some LED bulbs on V-LED's

It looks like i would need to run them with a resistor and they should be fine, its only one bulb per side (2007 WK)

These are the bulbs i was thinking of: http://www.v-leds.com/Exterior-LED/B...68711-1-2.html

i would wire them up, no problem.. but my issue is this...

The jeep is a lease.... so i dont want to splice. How bad would it be to set up a quick harness?

Link not working. I guess I don't fully understand what you are trying to accomplish either. You're just trying to put a brighter bulb in there? And it needs load resistors to get the bulb to work? So you wanna know if I can build a quick harness with the resistors built into it so that you can just plug it in with the new bulbs? Is that what you are looking for?

Bear in mind that you have to use a special 3157 bulb for the Jeeps, it's called a SRCK bulb.

Re: Customer Requests???

yeah its an old link, so its probably dead.

all i want is a bulb thats brighter and not hot... so i dont have to worry about warping.

so i just want an LED bulb that i can just plug in, and un plug when i bring it back to the dealer. (i plan on buying it, but i want to have it be stock when i bring it back for inspection)

can ya hook me up?

EDIT: found link: http://www.v-leds.com/Exterior-LED/B...68711-1-2.html

I'm sure I can make the harness no problem, I just dunno if it's gonna give you the brightness you're looking for. I've heard that sticking an LED bulb in the stock tails isn't as bright as the stock bulb. There's a gentleman by the name of ekaz that stuck LED bulbs in his stock tails over at the red site. He might be able to tell you if it's bright enough. I would just hate to build you something that doesn't achieve the effect you are looking for.

Re: Customer Requests???

wierd....i guess i assumed they would be brighter.... i mean, the website does say brighter!! hahaha

i havent actually seen the "red site"... haha

Also... i want to avoid warping on these ones. so maybe i'll be the pioneer (with your help of course) to figure out a way to get brighter tails without the heat!!

Re: Customer Requests???

I would be interested in getting this plug and play setup as well as long as the LEDs are in fact brighter than the stock bulbs

Re: Customer Requests???

Reverse will not need a resistor; it is only on and off functions and not blink (the blink requires the resistor). So you could do the reverse vleds now

Re: Customer Requests???

yeah Billy. look for a 921 bulb over on v-leds. no resistor, nothing. Plug and Play. they only work one way, so you can put them in bkwds. then just pull it and switch it around other way.

If you buy bulbs from autolumination, they claim to have a "polarity-correcting IC" in them, meaning you can install them backwards.

I didn't know there was very much demand for harnesses that have the resistors for making LED bulbs work. I can certainly whip something up. Can anyone confirm that the LED bulbs in stock taillights are bright enough, especially with tinted tails?

I will get a hold of ekaz over at the red site and see what his thoughts are, since he is the only guy I can think of that has this setup. And Relwarc, I'm not ignoring your PM, I just don't wanna get you spun up on a price until we know it's even worth it.
