Can't do a whole lot better on the sequencer than what you've found. $50, and that's basically for a mustang taillight sequencer. Don't know how well it would function with LED's. Don't know why they are so expensive.

The other option is to dust off your old bread board skills and build a circuit. A relatively cheap PIC or simple timer circuit would be pretty easy to make. Throw some transistors or MOSFET's into the circuit and you'd be golden. The PIC route would be easier if you have access to some one or some place that could program it for you. Community colleges or Universities are usually places that are more than happy to have a student do this for you. Buying a PIC programmer for a single chip wouldn't be economical so if you can't get the PIC programmed for free/cheap, then it is probably cheaper to build a discrete circuit with a TI 555 timer or something like that.

All that being said, it blows me away that something like a light sequencer is so expensive.

Now, onto the switches. I dunno what you are looking for (cheap, best switch, etc). The only thing that comes to mind are these:

http://www.thehoffmangroup.com/autol...=billetbuttons

They are available in 3 sizes and 6 colors, and are available as latching or momentary buttons. Perhaps the coolest thing about them is that you can customize them with an online library of symbols. And if they don't have a symbol that matches your taste, you can even have up to 3 lines of custom text printed onto the button. They are what I used in the switch panel of my truck since I have a ton of switches.

One thing they are not is cheap. You're looking at around $60/switch. But that is for the best button money can buy.

Re: Customer Requests???

First Question- Would it be possible for you to make me a rear fog light harness that doesn't come on with the tail lights, but instead is operated by a switch located in the dash? I like the rear fog idea, but only when it is foggy out.

Second Question- Did you ever get the reverse lamp override switch figured out? If so how much is that?

Re: Customer Requests???

I TURNED ON THE LIPS LIGHT : (like the batlight)

thanks for everything bro....we all owe you.

2 things:

1. on my 07 Jeep, i want LED TAIL LIGHT BULBS. It works with that S_CK type bulb and 6 ohm resistors. MY QUESTION IS can we rig something in a harness or the plug to make the REGULAR 3157 work in my jeep?

why: much larger selection for regular bulbs

2. i got some HID reverse lights. I want to add a short 1 sec or less delay on the power going to the ballast for these.

why: when i go from park to drive the reverse blink so I want to delay that signal so that when the time has elapsed, if the power is off, nothing happens. if tafter the delay the power is still on, then the light lights.

i am tink i need some type of relay that has a time on delay but I am totally not sure.

MAYBE somethinglike this or can you point me to a relay or something?

OR

would this thing work: I BOUGHT ONE SO I HOPE SO BUT OH WELL.

im attaching a datasheet for this item: I bought the VTM1QCD

The "Lips Light" - PRICELESS!

Anyways, I shall address your questions in reverse order. That module you bought should work, albeit with extra work. I was thinking more like something like this:

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_18693_PAC+TR-4.html

Main reason is it is cheap. I don't know what you paid for that module but $12 is hard to beat. This module's only downside (IMO) is the non-adjustability. 2 seconds may be a long time but it will do what you are looking for. It's only rated at 2 amps, so you would definitely want to wire it into the trigger side of your relay system. And yes, you better use a relay. That module you bought is only rated to 1 amp.

Now, please allow me to tender my opinion. I think you are taking this one a little far, Rob. And yes, I expect that statement to be in your signature from now on. It's not as bad on the HID components as everyone would like you to think. Mine are still functioning as good as the day I installed them. That's with literally HUNDREDS of reverse engagements. I understand your goal, and it's noble to be sure. But I just don't think the juice is worth the squeeze on this one, my friend.

Now, for your first question. Yes, this can be done, and done relatively easily. All that would be required is to cut the three wires that enter the socket and hook them back up in the correct positions to "move" the terminals to the "conventional" 3157 positions. Here's the S_CK wiring:

Now, in a "conventional" 3157 wiring scheme, there would be another ground where the "LOW +" position is above. The "LOW +" would be moved to the empty position opposite the "HIGH +". As you can see, it is nothing but a little bit of shuffling around to get the wiring converted over to "conventional" 3157 wiring. Now, you just gotta remember that your color code is all messed up.

Lastly, just thought I'd give you the heads up on this Rob: - THANKS TO ALL! Im STAYING!!!!!

Thanks on both Jason.

Appreciate your comments on the Reverse HID delay especially.

And the last thing, check your PMs we have some ideas to 'keep your spot open'
