OK i'm sure its been asked a million times but when I checked out Wkjeeps.com they said 5w20 oil so I go and buy it, as I open my hood the cap says 5w30. is the 20 good? I used it anyway, can't afford to be buying more Mobile 1 right now haha.
Thanks for the replies. I rechecked WKJeeps.com and they have 05-10 with 5w20 listed for all those years which got me. I should have just checked under the hood but I've always assumed that site was pretty accurate. Oh well I don't think it should make much difference, I guess i'll find out haha.
I always put 5W-30 in our '06 4.7 WK - never had any problems. Our '07 4.7 WK says 5W-20 on the filler cap. I did some research and found out that the 20 weight was used by the manufacturer to get better fuel economy when they ran their tests for fuel economy amongst there entire fleet of vehicles. I read that the average driver will not see a noticeable difference in fuel econ but when the manufacturer is looking at fuel econ regs for the entirety of there production line any small improvement helps their bottom line. In the end, either should be fine without doing any damage - but I would go with whatever it says under the hood.
Thanks guys, I appreciate the replies, if the 07's have it on the cap it should run just fine in my 05 4.7. I really didnt feel like draining it and buying another 6 quarts, that mobile 1 gets kind of pricey on my budget.
