05 WK Limited Compass on CAL mode

Compass is always on CAL mode whenever I start the car. If I don't make the circle, the CAL mode stays on and sometimes it stays on like that forever and sometimes the compass will return normal after 20 mins or so.
I know I have to calibrate after changing a battery, but what's causing it to be under "CAL" every time I start?

Re: 05 WK Limited Compass on CAL mode

Have you tried manual calibration? Possibly the system cant get the calibration right and keeps attempting to do it(possible magnetic interference from power lines etc...). Another possibility is the C/T button may be stuck causing it to keep entering calibration mode.

Re: 05 WK Limited Compass on CAL mode

NO man. the manual calibration did not help. Have not got time to do the demagnetizing yet. I doubt that would help cuz every time I make a 360 degree turn, the compass will return to normal. If I leave it alone, it might return to normal after 15 mins drive. Now, I guess i will have to get use to it being on the CAL mode.
