So because somebody was a douche to you, it's okay to be a douche to somebody else. Okay, now I get where your bitterness comes from. I would agree that the V6 sucks on gas and is underpowered in factory form but I'm trying to polish the turd so to speak. I just want to know if anybody out there has experience with tuners, CAI's, exhaust etc to slightly improve the mileage and performance of the motor. It's simple question.

To address the other poster Archer9, I honestly like the site, there are a bunch of good people that put together some good writeups and are willing to answer questions and be generally productive people. I have already benefited from reading a couple of writeups. It's just the aholes that would rather be a smartass or give you advice that they read somewhere that gets on my nerves. If you think I'm miserable, you would be wrong....I just don't have patience for aholes. Sorry if my negative vibes offend you, move on if you don't like what I had to say!

there are no tuners for the 07 V6...kinda sucks IMO. You may be able to send your PCM to Dave at B&G and have him do a gas miser tune. You may also look into a tcm reprogram from B&G as well. Then theres the K&N intake and ported TB. The main thing is driving habits.

Just an FYI, I know jeeps have shitty mileage....I have owned 10 or more over the years. I am just looking for people with actual experience in improving their mileage with tuners, exhaust, intakes, etc. I'm not looking for some smartass, "just sell it or keep you foot out of it", if I wanted that I would drive a friggin prius! Feel free to insert your head up your bum or move on if you don't have any useful information.

quit acting like a child and search the site if you didnt like the answers. you think you are the first to ask about hids or performance mods? look in the performance mods forum or the visual mods forum. try posting in hid vendors forums or USE GOOGLE.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

I have the K&N CAI on my v-6 which i ran with the stock wheels and tires for about 6-8 months. I can honestly say i saw about a 1/2 mpg increase (according to the evic) on the highway. No difference in town. Slight increase in power but, yes, you have to live with a polished turd, lol

Re: 07 wk v6 better lights and mileage needed

You will like the 4300K low beams from Xenon Depot. Easy plug and play install. I would match the fogs to these as this is what I did and the brightness is outstanding! Make sure you ground them properly. Sand down the surface paint before you fasten them down and seal them afterwards. A search of previous posts is a good idea as you will get visuals from other members as they did their installs, and I know of one in particular that installed the Xenons as I found his post as well as others helpful. The 4300K are white in color and the brightest color available. Alot of guys like a little color with their HIDs so they will go to a 5000K or 6000K. Anything higher in my opinion doesn't look as good and gives you less usable light. Steve at Xenon De[pot is excellent to work with and the support they offer is first rate.

Thanks, I bought the 4300k extreme kit as I read this uses german/japanese parts vs the Volt's Taiwanese components. I also like that this kit also has a seperate relay for each light instead of running oneand also the fact that it is white light and is roughly the same brightness as comes from factory vehicles. Did you use the extreme kit for both your low beams and your fog lights? I am looking forward to getting these on my 07 and my girlfriends 08.

1. Lights- The factory halogen driving lights and fog lights leave alot to be desired and I need HID's yesterday.

Been looking at the Xenondepot 6500k swap. Has anybody done this and how do you like it? Do you have the correct part # to use as their website is not the best. Are their lights any better than the 08 and up factory HID's?

What fog lights to get?

Just PM Steve from XenonDepot and tell him what you want and he will get you all set up! He is a GREAT guy to deal with!

2. Gas Mileage- What to do to get the best improvements?

Been thinking a Max Energy tuner and Cold Air Intake. Any experience/recommendations on tuners and CAI's or other ways to improve my mileage are welcome other than "keep you foot out of it" because that is not simply an option!

Like Scott said, There are no programmers available unfortunately! You can def try getting a CAI and see if it helps...Dont expect much though! You can also try to cut weight by removing you spare and also make sure you have proper inflation in your tires...But like I said above for the CAI, Dont expect miracles!
Good luck!

Re: 07 wk v6 better lights and mileage needed

I'm assuming you're referring to me pal?

It's balatantly obvious that whatever you spend "improving" your V6 WK's fuel milage will take forever to recoup.
if you spend, say $500 "improving" the underpowered overweight WK, and your milage somehow improves by a factor of (an unlikely!) 5%, it would take an age to regain the investment.
