With pinch weld mod and maybe an inch spacer i think 31s max but will limit how far you can stuff it.. if you dig around you can find a DIY for the mod.

Can put 2 inch metal spacers on and run bigger too. They run around 250 for the rough country. More money than the others but they are all metal.

Misunderstanding. I want to keep the 17's. What is the largest I can go on the standard rims without a problem.

Re: 2005 Grand Cherokee 5.7 Hemi Tires

I'm riding on Wrangler AT/S 265/70 R17 with a quarter inch spacer, no lift, no UCA bolt cutting, no pinch weld mod, and no rubbing. Goodyear labels them as 31.7 inches. I needed the spacer for the tire to clear the UCA bolt, and so the Moabs would clear the brakes.

Re: 2005 Grand Cherokee 5.7 Hemi Tires

I've looked into getting 275/55/17's. Tire Rack says they will fit and the dimensions seem right. Since I live in Southern California, I was going to get Summer only tires: General Grabber UHPs.

Re: 2005 Grand Cherokee 5.7 Hemi Tires

I have 255/70/18 (brand new, full tread 13/32) on oem 7 spoke polished 18x7.5 +44.45 offset, these are from a '13 jk with the factory Bridgestone dueler A/T RH-S, 32.05 diameter. With no lift there is no rubbing, clears pinch weld and bolt by 1/4 inch. Of note: these 7 spokes clear the brakes with out a spacer, where as the 17 moabs and 18 saraha (5 hole) do not, even though all these wheels mentioned have the same offset. Found these wheels at a jeep dealer, they took them off a new jeep when they lifted it. Got all 5 wheels and tires for $799 installed, swaped sensors and put blackwalls out. Smokin' deal!!! Pence Jeep, richmond, va. They have lots of "take off". This was the only 7 spoke set they had at the time. But they had a set of rubicon's with the factory M/T's if anyone is looking, and plenty of moabs with SRA's
