Moving on, now that I see you don't want a 4WD conversion, yes, I think it entirely plausable to install a complete rear diff assembly from a QDII equiped Jeep.

I think you could quite easily do it. Obviously it will bolt in, and I would operate the ELSD by a simply relay and switch, leaving you to engage it when you want, rather than going through the drama of trying to integrate the engagement into the factory box of smarts.

You'll need to investigate the amount of amperage and current draw the ELSD requires to operate correctly, as you don't want to either over-power or under-power the system and burn it out or have it not work correctly. Not too difficult to ascertain I wouldn't think.
Now thats what in talkin about! sorry bout the confusion myself. I will research some on this and see what i come up with...worse case i get a lunchbox diff and mod it that way.thanks for the input

You could always just install an ARB Air Locker in it and be done with it (assuming they make one for your Dana?)

Jason, IMHO- If your really set on locking the rear get in touch with ARB and go with an air locker. However, be ready to pay as it won't be cheap. http://www.arbusa.com/uploads/PDF/ac...CherokeeWK.pdf
Keep in mind that either way you'll have to have your gears setup again since your changing carriers. Something not typically for the average DIY. Most local shops around me charge about 500-600. Once you start to add things up it's going to get pretty expensive.

Maybe check your local salvage yards for a complete ELSD axle and try to figure out how to make the wiring work?
Good Luck Man!
