Re: 2005 wk ac compressor

Is the air still cold? I wouldn't bother with a recharge based on what you are reporting. Usually the compressor would be cycling more (not less) if the charge is low. When borderline with a low charge, you'll see the compressor cycle multiple times in a minute...there is an actual value that is considered too many in the FSM, but I can't recall what it is.

Re: 2005 wk ac compressor

Your low side pressures look fine (though I don't know what your ambient temperature was).

With it cooling properly, and not cycling more than 10 times a minute, and your low pressures within normal range I think you are safe to leave it alone.

If you checked the high-side pressures and that was too high, in combination with the low side being normal, it could indicate a low refrigerant condition, but since you are getting cool air I doubt this is the case.

It sounds to me like what you are reporting is completely normal operation. The compressor activates when the low side is above a certain value (I believe 30 PSI). It sounds like on MAX, the compressor is running due to heat load on the system.
