Re: 2005 WK Catalytic Converter Problems

Had same problems...05 Laredo 4.7 , had multiple misfire codes..changed plugs...again same codes...changed both 02sensors bank 2 from addl codes...still had misfire codes...took to dealer...Jeep tech said he worked at Midas for 3 yr and any o2 sensor they sold always failed the test and codes came back. Said you have to buy the mopar sensor from dealer ($60) and they all go away...so let the dealer change out one of the 2 o2 sensors I put in and codes went away for 10 miles, so I returned bk to dealer. Nx Day dealer called n said bank 1 was bad too and replaced it no charge.. wow...and running fine... no misfire codes for 1 wk so far so good!!

Re: 2005 WK Catalytic Converter Problems

Catalytic converter's have been a issue with chrysler's since the beginning. Do you not go after market on these, go OEM or straight pipe. I went $600 in catalytic converter's and they all failed within two months except when I went back to OEM. Or it could've been the alcoholic welder that was working on my charger?

Strange, I've been running JBA high flow cats. on my Hemi LX since they first came out back in about 2006. Never had any problems. Still running the stock wire spun cats. on my Hemi WK.....no problem with them either. Only problems with either has been O2 Sensors and I use NTK's (made by NGK) on both, which are what the factory uses. No problems with them either. Only problem I've ever had with an O2 is when I tried Bosch ones before the cats. They failed upon the first engine start.....wouldn't heat up fast enough.
