Not totally sure as the car was purchased 2nd hand back in october. i would assume they are new as the GC had done 27000 miles when i got it. they clean well and smooth, albeit with this annoying sound.
I have the same exact problem with my '08, and the same thing when I had an '06. So far I have not been able to come up with a solution, it has been driving me crazy. I have replaced the rubber/rubber holder with a couple of different brands but no change. I was going to try a new arm but don't think that would help. It might require replacing the wiper motor and the wiper module housing.
I see this is an older thread, So I'm going to try and revive it. I was riding in my buddy's WK 06 earlier tonight and it was raining, so every time the wipers were in the up position, we would hear what you're describing. It just made a single tap sound, try to picture it as if someone with longer finger nails tapped the windshield once every time the wipers came up to the top.
We pulled the wipers arms back then turned the wipers on without them actually touching the windshield, and the noise is still there. Sounds like it is near the wiper motor area. Either way, it was annoying. Has anyone ever dealt with this? or have an idea what's going on?
hmm.. can't say I've experienced the clicking noise.. BUT the wipers in my 08 compelety stopped working in all the intermitent settings.. everything in between slowest and fastest setting just magically stopped working. no idea what it could be.
This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
