Re: 2007 Front Bumper & 2008 Bumper

That's terrible customer service. They are supposed to do what you want done and if they can't do it exactly how you want it they should let you know before they do what they want to do. Call your insurance and let them know about it and you can have your insurance handle the whole thing. They do make the chrome for the Limited....look at Crashtowns picture

Re: 2007 Front Bumper & 2008 Bumper

BUMMER! It's hard to explain to body shops what you are trying to do, especially if you know more about your vehicle than they do. I made at least one visit a day to my body shop and even assisted on the final assembly. They might have been a bit annoyed, but I knew how it assembled, since I tore it all off in the beginning. So you got the default Laredo textured black lower? I'm not for certain if it can be painted or not, but the texture won't go away. There's this one, but the slots for the chrome strip have to be custom drilled and cut out. Only the Overland and Limited "S" will have these pre cut.

And the strip itself is more than the lower, but should be able to fit on the Laredo lower if you drill and cut it too.

Re: 2007 Front Bumper & 2008 Bumper

The body shop told me that they will paint the black textured bumper for me. Do I have a right to say no and make them order the correct bumper?

Re: 2007 Front Bumper & 2008 Bumper

So if I were to get that chrome front bumper insert....what would I have to do to install it?

Re: 2007 Front Bumper & 2008 Bumper

I would insist that they get the correct bumper. The fog lights will probably fit better. It sounds they just cut the grill looking things out of the Laredo holes. They will just be out of $$$$ on the textured black one. But you think that they would be willing to satisfy a customer. They have probably made plenty of money on the job.

Check out post# 3 on how to cut out the insert holes. Maybe even do this before paint.: 2010 Larado Lower Grill Insert

The chrome airdam insert is part of the airdam, it's not an insert that you can add to any 08 airdam. To get the right airdam with insert from a dealer, you'll need a VIN# from a 08+ Jeep that came equipped with it. One way to get that VIN is to search on ebay for used Jeep with the chrome insert. When you find one, copy that vehicle VIN and give that # to a dealer.

Re: 2007 Front Bumper & 2008 Bumper

So when doing this conversion, you have to change the headlights and grill as well?

Yep. The entire bottom contour changed. The grill drops a bit lower and there are scallops on the lower headlights. Without changing them, there will be a nasty gap.
