2010 Halo/Projector/HID headlamps

Why doesn't anyone make these:

http://www.kbcarstuff.com/Jeep-Grand...kee05jmbyd.htm

for 2010's? Is it possible to upgrade to Halo/Projectors and retain the HID. Honestly I know little to nothing about lighting, including if my Jeep even has factory HID's. "Halo" lighting is just a ring, correct? Presumably of LED's? and projector simply refers to a conical shaped mirror to concentrate light output?

Re: 2010 Halo/Projector/HID headlamps

does your headlights look like this?
if so, you have the HID projectors.

As for halos, you will have to open up your headlights and put the halo rings in. Flashtech and AAC are 2 companies that makes them. They will not fit if you have the OEM HID projectors(shown above)

This is a pic of mine by flashtech

Re: 2010 Halo/Projector/HID headlamps

You need a projector lens to have HID's function properly. They do have oem projectors for the 2010 up, but it is hard to open the headlight to put the LED halo rings in them. You can put the LED ring from flashtech in the regular reflector housing but you really shouldnt have HIDs in these, although some people still do and just aim them so they dont glare. If you want HIDs i would recomend the oem projectors if you just want halos just put them the reflectors. Having both in the 2008+ is difficult I think

Re: 2010 Halo/Projector/HID headlamps

It is possible to install HIDs into halogen headlight fixtures, I have them in my 05. The problem is that without the projector lens the glare of them can be bothersome to oncoming drivers. There are also typically problems associated with upgrading to HIDs in a holgen style headlight. These include grounding and relay failures. These headlights can be very difficult to separate in order to install holo rings but some members have done so here and there are helpful threads on how to do it.
