Re: 2010 Larado AWD (3.7L) driving on beach sand

You will be fine. At the most you might want to air down to 15 psi if you will be doing this for long extended periods of time/miles. Then carefully drive to a gas station to air up. But that will set off the tire pressure warning system. I used to run 10 psi with my Xj when wheeling and some times had to go 20 mins to a gas station just driving carefully.

BUT the Wk has very wide tires for stock tires so if its just some, drive on, drive around, park etc stuff you should be 100% fine just the way it is. Just steer clear of the water. Salt Water and salty sand water is a bad idea.

plain and simple, the QT1 isnt made for the sand. Therefore, dont try to break it in. Its a 2010 jeep, with the 3.7. Rob has posted great info, and reasoning as to why not to do it.

imo dont do it, and DONT lower your tire pressure 15 psi lower then the regular psi

Seriously? Dude i used to run 10 psi with 35" tires on my old XJ. Its 100% fine to lower the pressure to 15 psi when off road. The worst that will happen is the tpms warning light and bell will go off.

airing down will make for 100x better traction on sand, rocks and challenging roads.

Yes, i know its a lifted jeep with mud tires BUT. I did this and the rest of the trail w 100% open differentials, stock 3:55 gears in D. I know its not a stock WK w/o 4 L but 4 Low will only HURT you in Sand. These pics were long before i had locked rear axles and 4:56 gears. So the LACK of Power was amazing in that jeep that was stock drive line/trans/gearing.

Oh and here is the embarrassing video of me NOT making it up the rock until after the video stopped. Too 4 tries to get up that rock. It was so hard to make it up this rock because I DID NOT AIR DOWN. I was a NOOB

And another video, This was WAAY steeper then it looks and very uneven and loose ground.

Re: 2010 Larado AWD (3.7L) driving on beach sand

Yes, as I have mentioned before. You should air down to 15-20. Of course when you are done, drive slowly to your nearby gas station and fill back up. As for the QT2 and QD owners who have chimed in. You should still air down regardless. Sure you'll probably be fine without airing down. And should you get stuck without airing down, then get out your car and air down to 15psi where you are stuck before you dig yourself deeper.

Have it suck down to its frame then you can really see were mud can end up. I remember draining out my trans case in my ZJ and seeing a clump of dirt a year or so after I had it stuck

have QD2, and have been on the beaches of SPI 3-4 times, never aired down, jeep never bogged down once. And this was going into some really soft sand
