Re: 2010 Shock help

yep....its too tall in the rear. I would think airbags on the rear is your best bet.

Re: 2010 Shock help

[QUOTE=vvbob;157549]Do the bumpers inside the coil springs have to be removed for an air bag install??
I assume they would be removed, but I haven't received the air bags yet, which would include the directions.....Just trying to get ahead of the game a little.

08Hemi I'll have some pics in a few days....when the rain stops.

Thanks[/QUOTE

You will have to remove the bumpstops, but that is no big deal. The install is straight forward and easy. I have a set of Air Ride bags that I use when I pull my tent trailer. I tow a 3000lb camper with a tongue weight of about 350lbs and the airbags really make a night and day difference.

Re: 2010 Shock help

the WK Bilsteins HD shocks on the rear only may be a good alternative as well. they will raise the rear end about 3/8". They are high pressure gas shock.

^^ Def a less expensive alternative...i drove around with the rears only for about two months and it def stiffened it up back there, but I still haven't towed anything

Air bags are in the house....!!
Going to install them tomorrow, if it isn't too cold.

Re: 2010 Shock help

Air bags are in, & stock shocks back on......
1st set took a while to figure things out. 2nd set was quick & easy.

One thing I did do that helped a lot was: Jacked up the jeep under rear axle, took off the tire, Used rope, looped it through the spring coils & tied it as tight as I could. This allowed me to get the spring out much easier when I jacked the body up. Oh yea, disconnected the sway bar right off

So I am a happy camper again. Back to stock height & able to tow without the rear sagging.....
