2015 GJ Limited slipping into paddle shifting

Hi Everyone! I'm the new proud owner of a 2015 GC LTD 3.6ltr. Just wondering if anyone has experienced driving in "D" and it slipping into what appears to be paddle shifting? I'm only guessing as the D on the dashboard went into 7 overtop of where the D was. It's happened a couple times over the last week and it makes quite the roar and I have to hit the electronic shifter to get it into proper gear Has done this on the hwy as well as lower speeds on residential streets. My hands aren't near the paddle shifters so it's not like I've hit them by accident. Just need some feedback before I make a service appointment- thanks!

Re: 2015 GJ Limited slipping into paddle shifting

IIRC, when in auto auto the D will be bright, and the gear number WILL be displayed to the immediate right, but not as bright as the D. When in paddle shift mode, the gear number will be bright and the D dim.

The onboard computers will not let you paddle shift up/down if it would harm engine or transmission.

I do recall a couple of times when I was still getting used to the vehicle, accidentally touching the paddle shifter and putting it into paddle shifter mode without meaning to.

Congratulations on the new GC!
