Re: 245/65-17 replacement

I actually like the GY fortera for a summer tire but not worth the money. If they were not $170 a tire most places i would buy them again but there are much better tires for that money.

Re: 245/65-17 replacement

We've been running BFG Rugged Trail's on the wife's WK...awesome all around tire. I love BFG though...I've run their AT KO on both my last Jeeps. The Rugged Trails are a much more streetable tire. Quiet and grippy.

Re: 245/65-17 replacement

Go with the Destination AT's, and personally I would go with a 255/70/17 over the 245/65/17. It stuffs out the wheel wells more and has no rubbing issues.

One bonus I found from my local tire shops is the price difference of $30 less per tire with the 255 over the 245.

Re: 245/65-17 replacement

The BFG Rugged trail is a top seller at my work for WKs. Unfortunately to get the BFG AT KO on a stock wk you need to go up to a 245/70/17 or 265/65/17. Both are 1" taller and fit w/o any rubbing or issues but both are load range E only and that makes for a harsher ride.

I personally thing you should get the Firestone Destination AT but the only sizes that will fit a stock WK ate 255/65/17 or 265/65/17. The 255 is a tiny bit wider the 265 is 1" taller.

I have 265/65/17 Peerless Wide track baja tires on my Wk, I was going to get the Firestones or BFGs but these were free and are manufactured by firestone.

I have 245/65/17 Destination AT's, so not sure why you think they are not available. The only compalint is the slight humming noise, but they are worlds better than the Good Year Fortera's; bought a set of those and could not stand them so sold them after 6 months and got the Firestones.

Re: 245/65-17 replacement

I could not find that size listed on their website. maybe they have added the size since the last time i checked. Glad they offer it though. Thanks for the correction.

Re: 245/65-17 replacement

I switched to the toyo open country a/t and couldn't be any happier. Great quality tire that you can depend on. It has gotten my through some o the deepest snow and kept me on wet roads. It has a little more aggressive look to it but aren't any louder then the stock goodyears. Hands down you won't be disappointed.
