What tire do you guys think is the best replacement. I have 53000 on my stock Forteras and it is time for a change. Thanks!

Re: 245/65-17 replacement

Well I work at a tire shop and have put falken rocky mountains on a WK which didn't look good. IF you can spend more on tires I'd recommend some hankook dynapros or bf goodrich rugged trails. My old manager rocks the dynapros and they're super quiet and smooth, but have an aggressive tread pattern. I myself have some 265/70 17 rugged trails (had to trim that bolt on the front strut to make them fit) and they are smooth and quiet as well. Those are some quick recommendations for A/T tires. I guess I should ask, are you looking for some A/Ts or some off road or mud tires?

Re: 245/65-17 replacement

I have the Destination A/T's and absolutely love them. The snow doesn't stand a chance and they don't blink an eye when they are up north on some mild mud or dirt roads....

Re: 245/65-17 replacement

I don't get crazy off roading but utilize my jeep for the snow when headed up to the mountain skiing and the back dirt roads in the summer but no real off road. I would like a general all purpose tire that does not hinder my highway gas mileage much. I have a house in upstate New York that I getaway to and do about 3 hours on the highway getting there. Strictly highway I can get about 18+MPG with my 07 5.7 Grand.

Re: 245/65-17 replacement

The destinations aren't too aggressive and they were the number one rated all terrain on tire rack. I haven't noticed a difference in my fuel consumption while having them. Just my two cents though. Good luck with whatever you find.

Re: 245/65-17 replacement

I love my General Grabber AT 2's. Great tires, more agressive than most AT tires but not too noisy on road.

Re: 245/65-17 replacement

I work for a tire shop and the most common replacement tires for the factory Goodyears are the Hancook Ventus AS if you want a street/all season tire also the Firestone destination LE.

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....omCompare1=yes

if you are looking for an all terrain ire the Firestone Destination is a great choice, also the Toyo AT Open Country and the best at for stock in my honest opinion is the Goodyear Wrangler silent armor.

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....omCompare1=yes

If you want the Firestone Destination AT you need a 255/65/17 the fit fine, just a tad wider same for the general Grabber at2.

the general Grabber AT 2 is also a great tire.

Re: 245/65-17 replacement

I got the wrangler Silent Armors back in august in that size, and am so far very impressed with how they handle the snow, and they're pretty quiet too.
