So if someone were to change basically change all oils, filters, and fluids in vehicle (I don't count wiper fluid or blinker fluid) what exactly would they need? I have an 05 Wk with the 3.7 that was NOT taken care of properly and I want to start from scratch. What I've compiled I'll need for the weekend that my uncle is going to help me out.
5qt 5w-30 for engine
4qts 75w-140 for both differentials
2qts 75w-140 for transfer case
8qts auto tranny fluid
Plugs, suggestions?
and a serp belt to top her off
Is there anything else yall would do for an overhaul? O I'm at 60months so flush the whole coolant system? Please correct any wrong info above and add in your expertise
plugs use same as factory. can be had at any auto parts but get the EXACT same ones as oem.
the factory anti freeze says 100K or 5 years. if its still the orange stuff (HOAT) then i might keep it if its green, get rid of it for the proper HOAT stuff. Zerex makes one, again any auto parts, its called G-05 something like that.
if you do the belt i would also do the tensioner pulley.
brake fluid take a peak at that make sure still wsomewhat clear not cloudy
looks like ur on the right track for all the fluids ...
I would add the following ...
air cabin filter
check ac
brakes (rotors, pads, lines, fluid)
coolant flush and drain (although some don't agree but it helps)
get a Cold Air Intake or drop in filter to replace POS that has to be changed every time you change ur oil
get a quick oil drain valve plug to make life easier
check ur shocks (the wk OEM shocks suck) bilstein is the good route on those
front end alignment, fuel filter, water pump, thermostat, radiator hoses, brake pads and fluid flush, and dont forget to check the battery. These may not all need replacing, but its worth your while to check them while your at it,especially since it wasnt well taken care of.
Hooah! Thanks yall. Already had my bro who works at Oriely's price it out. About $320 for everything. And that's with him pricing me for the best of everything. Royal purple and all the best filters.
Now I just have to find a good intake for the 3.7 :O Other than the K&N I can't find one. I see yall arguing about oil vs dry. Has anyone tried putting a water bypass at the TB? Under normal conditions its too restrictive to let in air but when you suck up water the bypass lets in air, avoiding hydrolock
I just replaced my Oil with Mobile 1, plugs with OEM, and filter with a K&N intake, I also got some new tires. This spring I plan to do the Transfer case fluid and differentials but other than that I should be good. There is a lot more you can do like hoses and stuff as other suggested but at 5 years old mine are still looking good so im going to hold off on them.
Plus aren't you selling it for a HEMI? Is it werid I just bought this thing and I've already considered instead of buying my fiancee a truck when she comes up next year I'll just give her this? and buy myself a new vehicle of course
