392 Stroker Dyno'd! 500lb-Ft Tq?!

Hey guys! Well i finally got her dyno'd, still no tune though. I just wanted to get a baseline. Well apparently the dyno was messed up and wasnt reading the rpm's correctly. After i talked to Racing Solutions (not who did the dyno) they explained to me how dyno's calculate hp and if the rpms were wrong then the calculation would be wrong. It should be as below. The dyno shop said it was reading exactly half the rpm's, but im still not 100% sure that is correct. The Torque #'s should be correct though and that makes be happy enough to last for a while. Racing Solutions is going to try to finally get the tune done by the end of this week, so i should have some real #'s at that point.

Re: 392 Stroker Dyno'd! 500lb-Ft Tq?!

Thanks! Hopefully on a functioning dyno with a tune it'll have the HP to match. According to K&N's website stock is 243hp and 253tq, so im happy to see i've nearly doubled the torque at the wheels!

Re: 392 Stroker Dyno'd! 500lb-Ft Tq?!

lol ummmm Jotech. I know i know.. Its a big import shop but i got 5 runs for the same price another place was charging for 3. I did 3 on the stock tune, then loaded the 93 Octane tune to see how that would work. It made no difference and took the A/F from 13.1 to 13.9

Re: 392 Stroker Dyno'd! 500lb-Ft Tq?!

Assuming the rpms were recorded as half, then 500lb tq came at 5852rpm, so: (500x5852)/5252 = 557hp, but i think thats a bit high. Sucks that i paid $150 for a bs dyno! lol At least the tq is correct

Re: 392 Stroker Dyno'd! 500lb-Ft Tq?!

557hp at the wheels though?! Man that'd be well over 600hp at the crank (which would be awsome!)

Re: 392 Stroker Dyno'd! 500lb-Ft Tq?!

Gotta be at least 550 at the crank. My 6.1 put down 392/384 on a Dyno Dynamics with a shit load of knock. If you're running knock free, with more displacement, you should be in the same area. That 500ft/lbs at the wheels is not right though.
