Ive notices that I have a bit of a (clunk) noise from the drive shaft I believe when I go from a coast to accel. Is there anything I can do to damper the noise or shock from it? It's kinda annoying in traffic which I spend about an hour in daily mon-fri.
Yeah I'll be there. But I'll still be in 1st gear. I think it's from the drive shaft. I only hear it when I co from a stop or coasting and I go to acell. I've noticed that some 4wd/awd vehicles make that noise.
Again, you post when you dont know what you are talking about.. MY 2005 5.7 Hemi is full time 4 wheel drive......So yes, I do drive in 4 wheel drive all the time....4 Wheel high...I also have a 4 Wheel low setting too for off road...
Alot of the older jeeps are full time four wheel drive too, depends on which transfer case you have...I dont know the exact breakdown.....My old 98 5.9 was full time four wheel drive too
Strangely enough my old 87 Cherokee had the SelectracII (i think that's what it's called) with 2wd,4hi,4lo and AWD (non-locking 4wd but with limited fr-rear slip) It was awesome to leave it in AWD all winter and not have that jockeying around dry cornors.
Is there any mod I can do to stop this or damper the noise? My GF Lexus IS250 is AWD and I don't hear it in her car. That mofukah is tight!!! like the car is one solid piece. But I guess I'll have to live with it then....
Guys I do not think Scott owns a Jeep. He is always saying that he doesn't have the common annoyances we have. He must be driving a Honda Pilot. Anyone agree?
This has been a topic on the SRT8 forum too -- the analysis there is it's the drive shaft. Actually there's some play in the drive shaft connection from the tranny. There's a few solutions that have been offered that seem to solve it. Usually in the SRT8 it's happens when going from throttle to coast/stop.
I do. I'm known to have the vol set at 22-26. Just I work 9-5:30/6pm and I have to drive 5 exits on the LIE (Long Island Expressway) in rush hour both ways. A normally 10 min drive is 30-40 min of stop and go.
