When I take the TJ out on soft sand I bring them down to 12psi. I tend to go over the recommended speed limit but I have been driving those trails since I was 16. I hVe never had a problem, yet I can't tell you how many "first timers" I have seen blow rubber right of the rim because they hit a tree root or something sticking out of the sand.

That I would like to see.

Sand is a different animal than trails. With sand you gotta drop it that low where I live or you will get stuck in a heart beat. Nantucket sand will burry you Alive if you don't know your doing. $300 bills for a beach tow too.

Re: A day of fun in the hills with some Jeeps

I'd say how much you air down is directly related to where you're wheeling, as well as how tough your Sidewall is. Nate has the Trail Grapplers which could probably be ran at like 10-12 psi offroad with out issue. Those are also 3 ply Sidewalls and E load rated. Rocks, mud, sand, snow, I would air down.

Re: A day of fun in the hills with some Jeeps

I see you have the Destination A/T's. I believe those are two ply(correct me if I'm wrong). I probably wouldnt go much below 20-22 psi. Another thing is how far you will need to travel to air up. You don't wanna ruin the cords by running too low of pressure on the highway.

Dude these tires are freaking Awesome! I really like them! I have yet to try anything that they couldn't conquer. I mean I give credit to the Jeep's QD2 system as well! I started out by airing down to 30psi because I didn't think I would need to go any lower. I like airing down some just for a smoother ride off road. My first attempt at that hill I got about 10' from the top and then all I could do was burn rubber on all four tires. So I backed down and aired down to 20psi which is what I usually do for more difficult trails, and she walked right up. The vid of me going up was the second attempt at 20psi.

Sorry I just noticed there was a second part of your question! I just installed the 20" the day before the trip and didn't have time to wire it in. But here is a crappy phone pic of the D2s:

And this is a shot with all my lights on:

Again crappy phone pics! I will go out and take some good ones once the 20" is wires in.
