Re: Accuracy of on board trip computor

HAHAHAHA...

I have a 5.7 and I get 14-15 mpg in the city and 20.5-21.5 on the freeway @ 75-80mph! Gotta love MDS...

And my EVIC has always been within 1-2 mpg's of actual driving (both city and freeway)...and when I do the manual trip calculation (ie immediately record the EVIC when I get off the freeway and compare) it is VERY close (like .3-.8 mpg off)

Re: Accuracy of on board trip computor

just did the trip over thanksgiving...went 411 miles roundtrip (220 home and 191 back before fill-up in Ventura) and had 19.1 gallons used...21.5 all day long...and I had someone with me in the car (260+ pound dude) and my 75 pound dog...with luggage and made it home in a little under 3 hours (220 miles from SB 93105 to Indian Wells 92210) so avg speed was 73.8 mph...and I def went over 80 at times and never below 70, with no stops.

I will be giving a running commentary on my findings

My gut feeling is I have made an error, my OBD should reflect the way I drive and if the consumption is that poor, then there is a problem with the car

note; tyre wear is even, had a balance of the fronts this am and the tyre shop said not to bother checking the tracking as the tyres were fine
