I am looking to add exhaust to my 05 4.7 wk and was curious if i can just purchase a muffler to make it sound deeper and more agressive. I am looking for a cheap way to deepen the sound so i was hoping this is all i need.

I put on a Flowmaster 50 on my 4.7 and it sounded really good for relatively cheap. I also have a K&N CAI so that might have affected it.

This is what I had on my Jeep until it got totaled. Then I got blamed for alot of the accident right off the bat because i was "speeding" although I was slowing down and all people could hear was the downshift.... but anyways back on subject lol http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000XQM1KS sounds very nice on the 4.7

I just have the muffler and I really like the sound.

I went to the local shop and they ordered it and put it on for me. It was the Flowmaster 50. I have no idea what the part number would be or anything like that.

Just the muffler they will sell you the pipe for around 30 - 40 and weld it all up

2.5 in 2.5 out and i think its center in offset out.

This is the one I had on my last jeep. I really like it sounded really good on the 4.7

What kind of tip are you looking at?

currently i have a 22" magnaflow on my WK. i went magnaflow over FM as ive had both over the past few years and the FM gets loud after awhile, the magnaflow also did more for me in the butt dyno. i have a aftermarket throttle body and a tuner to go with it. she is relatively tame at cruising speeds but when you get on her, def can tell it has an exhaust. if you want something that doesnt have too much of an annoying drone at cruising speeds id go a larger muffler- the 22" magnaflow is 4" shorter than stock.

awesome it doesn't sound like its too costly!!

so im going to order the tip and muffler, run to a shop and have them weld it on adding a pipe at the same time and installing the tip?

Yea once you get the muffler and tip take it to the shop tell them you want to replace your muffler and put the tip on. I think mine cost me $150-170 total without a tip...

The only problem I had was the guy didn't take a card and i didnt have but $20 on me... I figure everyone takes a card these days I never have cash... lol

If you are talking about the reviews on amazon then i would disregard them... the application is not on a V8 on either of those rides. Magnaflow is known for having a modest tone and not so loud and obnoxious, but let us know how you like it... thats a great price!

If those videos I posted earlier sounded stock I wouldn't of bought an exaust... lol

#25 ·
the video stated that your exhaust was 8 x 5 x 14 yet the one online that i ordered was 8 x 5 x 20..

im just worried its not going to be that much different than my stock v8 sound

#26 ·
I could of swore they were the same model number... either way you should be fine man

I've officially done it.

The tip i bought online was a little too long so i had to buy one from the shop but overall i spent about 150 at the muffler shop to install the muffler, exhaust tip, and the tip itself. Not a bad deal. But it sounds AWESOME. very deep and aggressive just how i had wanted it. Will post pictures soon.
