anybody using this iPod plug-in?

http://www.justforjeeps.com/moipinkitdco.html

the reviews definitely aren't looking too bright, and they say something about a firmware update (I have an iPod Touch, the newest version I believe) but it's said that as long as I have my Jeep so I don't know if it has happened yet or not?

is anybody using this plug? I want the direct-in because I HATE FM transmitters. I have never seen one in my life that functioned properly and given that I leave the state almost weekly, it would be a huge pain in the ass to keep searching for new stations. I refuse to buy one. I just want a nice clean way to play my iPod with my factory navigation still in place.

Re: anybody using this iPod plug-in?

i've been using this http://www.belkin.com/IWCatProductPa...duct_Id=390447 for almost 2 years and it works flawlessly. you said you don't like fm transmitters but this might change your mind. what's great about it, is that i can take it in my wife's jeep too. the dock holds the my 32g touch perfectly. it even has an auxillary port so that you could hook up any mp3 player even though it's designed for the ipod.

Re: anybody using this iPod plug-in?

that's the one my sister has in her WJ. like I said a big part of it is that I travel out of state almost every weekend, so constantly scanning for new stations is just a huge pain (even though it does it automatically, it's nice to just not have to screw with it at all).

what exactly is the lockpick?

Re: anybody using this iPod plug-in?

it allows an ipod to be hard wired to the radio plus alot of other functions.

Re: anybody using this iPod plug-in?

i find it very slow and not worth while. mine came with it so id be upset if i bought it and found out how slow everything is on screen. gl scrolling through some songs on display- itll take roughly 3 minutes each page.

i exaggerated but still its not worth that kind of money id say.

Re: anybody using this iPod plug-in?

Mine came with the kit in it, so I can't really complain too much, but I second that its slow. I find that about the only way to make good use of it is to make playlists, since it takes forever to scroll through any other way. Another negative is that it doesn't seem to charge the newer nanos and touches, but classics charge just fine. I ended up just leaving my classic in the car and getting a new touch. On a positive side, it sounds good, it nice to have fully integrated, and shows the song info on the screen once you finally find the song, but i'm not sure I would spend $200 on it.
