Re: Anyone cover their EGR on a 5.7?

That catch can at DS is a BT can with the DS logo on it. They're excellent. The BT's are plain vanilla (no logo), but I kind of like the DS one.

Hahaha it would be sick if you gave Rob and David business but in all reality, I bet you could find a better deal online plus you could get braided lines if you want to be a baller. I don't know if they sell them in yellow though..

I go to Ditos for everything except warranty work and they hooked me up with a silver catch can. I asked about it while I was getting some service done, bought it, and they installed it at no extra charge!

It also came with the Z bracket. The bracket doesn't work with the engine cover and it actually hits the EGR valve when installed (The bracket is designed for the 6.1l engine). But Ditos took the bracket to a grinder and fixed the clearance issues. So if you plan on using the Z bracket you'll have to mod it to make it work.

I personally don't have braided lines but they custom routed the hoses for me and even used a few OEM hoses for the install.

So far it's held up fine and it's a high quality product. It works and I clean it out every thousand miles just to be safe but I could wait even longer between drainages. I'm not sure when I bought it but I've had it for roughly three oil changes (+/- 18k miles) and I have about 6oz. of oil in my garage that I've drained from the catch can. Oil that would have ended up in the intake manifold.

Don't use my figures for a reference though
The amount of accumulated oil in your catch can can vary. It's different for everyone based on a variety of factors.

Re: Anyone cover their EGR on a 5.7?

Ordered me a DS catch can and a new PCV valve. Also have some Mobile 1 oil, a fram oil filter and an EGR valve. All should be getting installed starting next week! Already cleaned my TB! Can't wait to gain some extra HP and MPG! Woot!
