Anyone riding on Pirelli Scorpion ATR's?

I need new tires and Merchants has a sale on the Pirelli's, buy 2 get 2 free.. The only catch is you gotta get alignments for a year(2), and some extended warranty for the tires.. All said and done out the door it's $679.54, tires installed, balenced, and wheel alignment, plus another alignment later in the year is also included in the price.. What ya think?? I really wanna know how good the Pirelli Scorpion ATR tires are.. Are they smooth?? No off-roading for me..

Re: Anyone riding on Pirelli Scorpion ATR's?

i've had scorpion atr's on my wk for over 2 years and 20k miles. they were the highest rated AT tire on tire rack when i bought them. i have zero complaints about them. they are great on dry, wet, snow, ice. almost no road noise. i love how the tread pattern and siping are. your price is about what i paid without an alignment. the rubber compound is a little soft so if you do any serious off-roading you may want to look at something different.

Re: Anyone riding on Pirelli Scorpion ATR's?

I coming too late to this thread, but I hope you don't have the same experience I did with these. I replaced my Revos with the Scorpions, and was never happy that I did. One tire took 14 ozs and another took 16 ozs to balance them, and they never seemed to be balanced correctly. This was on the latest equipment, so it wasn't user error. When they were worn, they were quite noisy as compared to new. I never had a complaint about their traction or handling though. I just think that the manufacturing tolerances aren't there in Venezuela where they were produced.

Re: Anyone riding on Pirelli Scorpion ATR's?

I rode on Scorpion AT/R's for 60k miles and 3 years. Awesome tires. If they came in 255/70 then I would have gotten them again. Never once got stuck in New Eng. winters. And they would've lasted longer if I did an alignment after the lift.

Re: Anyone riding on Pirelli Scorpion ATR's?

make sure that your tire shop had the ACON adapter or you'll never get your wheels balanced. i never had any trouble balancing mine and i had them use the tape weights inside the wheel well. i've been up to 110mph and never had any vibration. after 20k miles, i'm not seeing any unusual wear patterns. they do not make any more noise than the stock goodyears did. i'm very happy with them.

Re: Anyone riding on Pirelli Scorpion ATR's?

I think you'll like them. My neighbor put them on his Durango and said it was like a totally different truck. He loved them.

Re: Anyone riding on Pirelli Scorpion ATR's?

You're right...good looking tread and sidewall patterns. Good luck with them, and glad to see you didn't have the balance problem that I did.

Re: Anyone riding on Pirelli Scorpion ATR's?

my wife has them on her SUV... I have driven it too. the tires are JFD. I am sure you will like 'em too. I guess you had better since your wallet is lighter and they are now installed on your Jeep......
