Re: Anyone upgrade horn on WK???

wait so that horn from JC whitney, do you have to wire a switch into the cabin? OR can you connect it in place of the stock horn? Where is our horn located anyways?

you Splice it in to the stock horn, so it operates as your normal horn. Its located kinda behind the front bumper, it meant to operate in conjunction with your stock horn I thinkkk, but I just took the stock one out and put that straight in its place.

Re: Anyone upgrade horn on WK???

I'm trying to get blake out as we speak to compare his stock wk horn to mine so you can really actually hear the difference it makes, not just the sound of the new one, hopefully he'll have a little time today

Re: Anyone upgrade horn on WK???

Hi All - I too want to upgrade my horn from a civic sounding one to a real truck horn. Living in the Boston metro area and driving 70 miles a day, 5 days a week, I frequently have people swerving into my lane un-invited while texting.

I did upgrade to a Wolo Bad Boy 619 - this took the place of the two factory horns. It is ok, but puts about the same sound as the stock, just a deeper tone. I really want a loud, wake up and pay attention, punch!

Thinking of going to a dual trumpet and dual electronic compressor unit.
Loud Dual Trumpet Air Horn

There seems to be plenty of room behind the front gill, in front of the radiator.

Any advice/thoughts? I don't want to get into a tank and reservoir - just want a loud horn!

Thanks!

Dang, hate to hear that because I have one of these sitting at home waiting for me to install it.

Did you use the relay it came with or just hook it up to the factory wiring?

Update - tried to install the Wolo Bad Boy horn and didn't realize I would lose the audible verification of the doors locking. Tried both with and without relay, but all you hear is a click from the horn when activating the locks. My main reason for doing this was so I could better hear the horn from far away when using the remote start, but since that wasn't going to work I just put the factory horns back in (for now).

Does the new horn honk when the door locks or remote start are activated?
