Re: Autostix....

Throw it into 1st at around 20 mph... j/k don't do that.

It is possible to rev match (a little) with the autostick. I noticed that doing a little heel-toe action with the brake pedal when downshifting makes for smoother shifts.. but it has to be timed.

Re: Autostix....

Yeah I thought throwing it to the left and holding it would just drop it to the lowest gear it could handle at your current speed but when it dropped it to first while I was doing like 25-30mph I almost crapped my pants, felt like the tranny was falling out and like I slammed on my brakes. Luckly I have 2 years left on my powertrain but I dont want to screw it up so Im just leaving it in drive from now on.

Re: Autostix....

I use it sometimes on the highway. If I'm doing 60 and something opens up I drop it in 3rd and go. IMO it's too slow. My Gf IS250 and even my old altima 3.5 when I hit it to shift it would go. Not so much with the jeep. It still shifts when it wants like it's in auto.

5.7Unlimited is just really nice
Re: Autostix....

If you are going 60 miles per hour and hold it to the left it will not go into 1st gear.
It's not a true manual shift you basically "queue" a shift so if you floor it from a stop and while flooring it tap it to second it will not shift right away it will shift into 2nd when it reachs max RPM.

As far as everything else goes dreamer1213 pretty much summed it up

I can categorically tell you IT HAS FAIL SAFE and won't let you choose a gear that would over-rev the engine.
I use it all the time.

It's funny there is questions on something so simple. Tap it for choosing gears, or hold it in either direction for two seconds to obtain either top gear or the lowest gear possible for the road speed.

Re: Autostix....

you can make driving look more dramatic to the passenger with it thats for sure! honestly i use it to cue shifts for passing i time it all right, pass opens up, hold left wait wait here comes 2nd pin throttle, tap blinker, change lanes, by now im @ 70~+ shhh okay now we let out as 2nd gear has exhausted its speed limit by letting off gas and holding shifter to right to go back to normal drive gear and coast back to speed limit

Re: Autostix....

yeah i mostly use it to pass. when you punch it it doesnt down shift fast enough on its own to make that quick pass. using the shifter i can slam it down to 2nd and get around someone alot faster
