You don't need a traditional tweeter to to reproduce upper treble with authority.

But replacing the BA dash speaker with a coaxial helps in this case.

Re: BA sound system Q's

I replaced my factory BA front door and dash speakers with the Mopar kicker upgrade and was pleasantly surprised. I found that the replacement dash speakers add greater detail to the high frequencies and increase the soundstage. As for the 6x9 midbass in the doors, it seems like the bass went from slightly muddy, to a tighter, harder hitting bass. On the opposite side, I feel like I lost a little of the real low end, but I'm going to install my Infinity Basslink II in the cargo area to round out the frequency range. With all of that said, it really is hard to beat the BA speakers with the factory headunit.

Re: BA sound system Q's

I'm planning on changing the dash and front door speakers. I"d like to add a sub but the cost of a stealthbox is nuts. I have half a mind to make one myself if I could find a junk trim panel to use as a model. At the least I will likely get an Aura Bass shaker which will give the bass effect. That may solve the issue. We'll see.

You don't need an extra trim panel to make a copy-stealthbox. I built one (see link in sig, build log II).

Re: BA sound system Q's

I need to do one that is like a stealth box, we don't want to give up any space back there. My luck with 'glass isn't all that good. I can do it but I haven't done much and I didn't like my results. Guess I need to suck up and try or have someone do one for me.

Re: BA sound system Q's

Originally i replaced the dash 3.5" with tweeters, sounded good but couldnt crank it up, they would crackle, then i went ahead and ran polk crossovers on the front doors so the tweeters and stock door's sounded better off a 4ch amp. then i finally blew them (the BA system really wasnt that bad with more power) and installed polk 6.5" woofers in the front doors and coaxials in the rear off a 4ch amp. Sounds a lot better. The upgrade is yours, I hooked the 4ch aftermarket amp up to the original wiring in the rear where the amp is so i didnt have to pull new wire like in the ZJ (pain in the ass). Matt knows what hes talking about so refer to him for details hahaha
