Best Jack Stands for WK

Ok, i need opinions on some jack stands and which work the best for the WK.

option #1
Craftsman Professional 3 ton High Lift Jack Stands

option #2
Craftsman Professional 4 -Ton Jack Stands, One Pair

option #3
GM Performance 2 Ton jack stands

All three will obviously support the Jeep, but each has a different design at the top. Im assuming the flatter style one is the one that would work best on our WK's.

Option #3 are rated at 2tons and are the cheapest at only $20 a pair.

Just wanted to make sure i got the right ones before i do my RC lift

Re: Best Jack Stands for WK

IMO get the one with the widest base. it will be much more stable and SAFE when you are under it fighting with stubborn parts. Also since you are lifting it , a taller set would be helpfull, and maybe even needed. Craftsman is good stuff, but check harbor freight as well, I got some 12k stands a few years back for cheap. the base it about a foot wide and they have never teetered on me, and I get rough sometimes on the otherhand i've almost knocked it off some little stands before, not a good feeling when you're under there!

X2 + the 4ton IMO. Harbor F does have good stuff but you really need to check the product out (welds and connections). A lot of stuff from China, not a bad thing just check the QA and be safe under there. I almost knocked my 67Galaxie off of some smaller ones NOT GOOD.

Re: Best Jack Stands for WK

I see where you guys are comin from and thanks for the advise about harbor freight... those guys really do have some sick deals on tools over there.

But either way i would NEVER get under my jeep without knowing my jack is pumped up and almost supporting load right next to or near where im working. I guess im a little over cautious that's all.

IMO...get the ones that have the lowest or shortest profile. Especially if you are lowered...

Re: Best Jack Stands for WK

i have both the first and last pair (last ones came with the jeep). to get the high stands under the jeep you really need to crank it up higher than with the regular stands, which are a couple inches shorter from the base. That being said, sometimes the high stands cup design doesnt fit ANYTHING under the jeep so I use them on the rear axle and use the regular ones up front under the jack stand points.

Re: Best Jack Stands for WK

I had mine on some 2 ton jack stands for a week with no rear wheels/tires on it while i did some repairs and it was very stable and for safety i put the wheels/tires under the unibody frame rails just to keep it off the ground had it fallen some how.

Re: Best Jack Stands for WK

Just picked up a new 3 ton floor jack and it has me questioning my jack stands. I currently have a pair of 2 tons stands, are they safe or do I need 3-4 ton? Are they rated as a pair or individually? So we it be 2 tons when using both or 4 tons when using both?

I have used them multiple times with no issues, but just want to make sure.

Re: Best Jack Stands for WK

Jackstands are rated individually, so the 2 ton ones are fine.

I find the lowered Jeeps at bit of a tough beast to find proper stands for. You need something with a short base height, like Scott said, in order to get under the truck but then you need lots of length as the suspension droop is quite long. If they don't go high enough then you can't support it with the tires off the ground. I use a 2 ton set from a local auto parts store but i place them on a 2x12 cut to about 12", as a base to set them on, and that seems to work.

Ok, thanks...my Jeep is at stock height so standard stands work fine, just wanted to be safe weight wise
