im getting ready to buy my first wk. i have been reading posts here and over at JU. i know i want a 08 limited with qd2 but i cannot settle on an engine. my first choice is the CRD then the 4.7 then the hemi. i think......#1 - I WANT RELIABLE #2 i would like to see at least 13 mpg city with the 285s. i also know i will be lifting it 4 inches and running 285s. i have not found a post with straight answers on how each of the engines acts with the 285s. i know the hemi will be fine but i am concerned about mpg`s. my driving is 50/50 city hwy.also i will be towing a 6x12 enclosed trailer with my quad in it through out the coal region of PA which means hills. im not worried about mpg`s while towing. also regearing is out of the question.

I have a 07 WK CRD. With stock tires and stock tune I got 22 mpg with 50/50 hwy/city driving. After getting a Green Diesel economy tune I am averaging 26 mpg with 50/50 driving. I drive the speed limit or slightly faster and accelerate normally. No jack rabbit starts. I am amazed with the performance of the CRD. Towing will be a breeze with the diesel too.

with 265's and a similair "green diesel tune" I am getting about 22 mpg with 50/50 hwy/ city driving with my 2007 wk diesel. i am sure i would be getting closer to 25 mpg with stock tires.

I have an 05 Limited Hemi with what amounted to a 2.5 inch lift front and rear and 285s... with the Flashpaq and no other mods, I'm getting around 12.5-13mpg in town and 17 at highway speeds... but I'm running Trail Grapplers, which are a whopping 68lbs a tire... so with a lighter 285, it might be doable.

Forgot to mention, it was a total dog until I put the programmer on it, which fortunately was only about two miles til I got it home after the tire install. Now, the only the only thing that feels different at all is that braking takings a bit more pressure on the pedal, but its something you get accustomed to pretty quickly.
